Mobile Car Wash Irvine
If you were the Jack In The Beanstalk giant, hopping along the California coast, you might come across the gleaming, gem scattered city of Irvine and decide to wear it around your neck. That’s because Irvine is a master-planned city designed in the shape of a necklace; strung along to main streets and ending at its pendant, the University of California, Irvine.
Originally home to the indigenous group of Gabrieleño Indians, who settled across Southern California, the territory making up Irvine was eventually conquered by the Spanish about 2,000 years later. The area became home to numerous forts, missions, and cattle herds after the arrival of Gaspar de Portolà, a Spanish Explorer. In 1864 Jose Andres Sepulveda sold 50,000 acres of land to several individuals, one of whom was James Irvine who purchased his portion for only $18,000. In 1947, James Irvine, Jr. died at the age of 80 years old and his son, Myford, assumed the presidency of the Irvine Company and started opening portions of the Irvine Ranch to urban development. This was just the beginning of the eventual expansion that would lead to the development of one of Southern California’s most beautiful and thriving cities.
The City of Irvine has always been a place where people have gone to build a better life. The master-planned city dreamed up by William Pereira and The Irvine Company planners were always intended to provide a high-quality of life for its residents with higher education at its center. In 1975 the fall of Saigon brought an influx of Vietnamese refugees to the area. In 2016, the City of Irvine became the largest city in the continental United States with an Asian American Plurality, making up approximately 45% of the city’s population.
